High Efficiency Toilets and Clothes Washers Help Save You Money!
Toilets and clothes washers are typically the highest
water using appliances in our homes. Starting April 1, 2011, the
Acton Water District is offering a rebate program to encourage
customers to install more water-efficient clothes washers and
toilets.
WaterSense labeled toilets are available at a wide variety of price points and a
broad range of styles. EPA estimates that a family of four that replaces its
home's older toilets with WaterSense labeled models will, on average, save more
than $90 per year in reduced water utility bills, and $2,000 over the lifetime
of the toilets. If you have a leaking
toilet, consider replacing it instead of repairing it, this will result in even
greater cost savings!
Over
its lifetime, an efficient clothes washer can save the homeowner hundreds of
dollars in water bills, and substantial savings on energy bills as well. Only a
limited number of washing machine rebates are available so do not delay.
We encourage customers to download the brochure and applications and take
advantage of this rebate program. Appliances must be purchased between April 1
and November 1, 2011 and applications must be received by the Acton Water
District by November 15, 2011
