Volunteer Position: Finance Committee Member
A position on the Finance Committee has recently opened due to the incumbent resigning after many years of service to the District. The District Moderator is looking to appoint an inhabitant of Acton to fulfill the current term, ending in 2028. The Finance Committee, consisting of three voters of the District, is appointed by the District Moderator to review the budget for the Annual Meeting and make recommendations to the Commissioners on any matters of a financial nature arising out of an Annual or Special Meeting. No member of the Finance Committee may serve any other standing committee of the District or the Town of Acton having to do with expenditure of funds. The Committee meets periodically and one member is designated to attend every third Commissioners meeting (which occur biweekly) on a rotating basis. Water Systems Laborer
The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Laborer will assist in the maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the District, distribution/storage system, four water treatment plants, and multiple pumping stations. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response. Excellent benefits and hourly rate (starting at $24) will be dependent on qualifications. Water Treatment Operator
The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Operator will assist in the operation of the distribution/storage system, four water treatment plants, and multiple pumping stations. The position requires a minimum of a D2 and T2 water operator licenses with preference given to candidates with a T3 water treatment operator license. Backflow testing and level 2A hoisting licenses desirable. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response, with the expectation to go on scheduled rotating call after a probationary period.
