Staff Accountant
The Acton Water District seeks qualified applicants for the position of Staff Accountant. This is a new full time position performing varied accounting duties in support of District operations. The position will also function as a key member of our customer service team generally working under the Treasurer/Collector. The position requires an associate’s degree in accounting or related field with a bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. A minimum of three years of bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable experience, preferably in municipal government; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
We offer an excellent benefit package and anticipate a starting salary of $72,000-$78,000, which will be dependent on qualifications. Water Treatment Operator
The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Operator will assist in the operation of the distribution/storage system, four water treatment plants, and multiple pumping stations. The position requires a minimum of a D2 and T2 water operator licenses with preference given to candidates with a T3 water treatment operator license. Backflow testing and level 2A hoisting licenses desirable. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response, with the expectation to go on scheduled rotating call after a probationary period.
